About the Winery

In 2006, Emma and Jeremy Borg decided to create a wine company with one aim – to raise money to build a more hopeful future for the remarkable and highly endangered painted wolf. There are fewer than 6,000 painted wolves, or African wild dogs, left in the world today. Painted Wolf Wines is dedicated to the production of authentic, distinct and delicious wines and to the conservation of African wild dogs and their natural habitat, working with a number of partners to channel up to 5% of turnover into conservation projects

the den Sauvignon Blanc 2019

About the wine

Social wines to be enjoyed with friends and family, these wines are named for the den, the heart of all painted wolf communities. Flavour-packed, soft and juicy comfort wines.

A soft and full-flavoured wine which balances cooler aromas of fynbos, green figs and minerality with warmer region tropical fruit aromas. This Sauvignon Blanc has a round textured mouth feel, great balance and fresh supple acidity.

Winemaking process

This wine is produced from two vineyards, a cooler site in Darling and a warmer site in the Swartland. Great care was taken to ensure that the grapes were picked at the correct time and they received the best possible attention, being blanketed with CO2 throughout the crushing and pressing process.

This wine should be drunk within three years of vintage.
